Our Story

TRAVEX INTERNATIONAL COLLEGE of today started off as Travex Services Center & Enterprise which came into being on 12 October 1985.


The main objectives of the centre was to provide administrative support services in the search for qualified personnel in the tourism, airlines and hotel industries.  Secretarial, airline and tourism training was made available for job seekers.


In 1998, Kolej Travex Sendirian Berhad, more popularly known as Travex International College was established.  It focuses on the 'NICHE' market for tourism education services.


Being in the industry for more than 30 years, TRAVEX has produced TOP' International Air Transport Association (IATA) students in Malaysia in December 2012.  We have been appointed as IATA Local Coordinator in Malaysia, and is the IATA, Canada examination center from 2012 to 2018.


TRAVEX is a boutique college of tourism.  We offer quality standard training and always aim for 100% passes in any examination that our students attempt.  Our graduates are in great demand and very popular in the tourism industry.  As a matter of fact, any tourism professional, even a coach driver can see the difference between Travex and non-Travex trained staff. 


We are proud to have trained industry leaders for economic development. Graduates managing their own travel companies, hotels and restaurants.  Among them, one of our graduates owns the TOP leading travel company in Malaysia - Apple Vacations & Conventions Sdn Bhd.  And, two graduates have been the Past President of the Kuala Lumpur Tourist Guide Association.

MDM KERIUN ONG, CHAIRMAN

Tourism Industry training ICON, Mdm Keriun Ong launched the 1st Tour Agency Operations course back in 1985.  She has pioneered travel and tourism industry training for the last 34 years.  Today, the tourism industry is filled with TRAVEX’s graduates where most of them are leaders and job creators in the tourism industry for economic development.  


She continues to pursue her vision of creating extraordinary TRAVEX graduates.  She assisted the Ministry of Culture, Arts & Tourism in establishing the Association of Tourism Training Institutes of Malaysia (ATTIM). She was also the 1st President for ATTIM.  


Mdm Ong is the Department of Skills Development (DSD), Ministry of Human Resources tourism industry expert.  She is currently in the DSD panel for external verifier and assessor.


She strongly believes that “TRAVEX GRADUATES' SUCCESS IS HER SUCCESS”.

TRAVEX LECTURERS & TRAINERS

TRAVEX teaching team have more than 30 years of education and skills training experience.  Senior lecturers and trainers have long working experience in TRAVEX.  Most of them are actively involved in the tourism, hotel and aviation industries.  Some of our teaching staff managed or owned tours and travel business.


Our teaching team are friendly and helpful.  They provide close monitoring in students learning and they played an active role in coaching, mentoring and guidance to all students.  After services are extended to graduates in monitoring those who opt for part time, or freelance jobs ensuring that these groups are happy and busy with tours assignments.  


TRAVEX teaching team being the longest experience in training tourist guides in Malaysia has reached its remarkable achievement in obtaining the 5-STAR JPK Award 2013.
